Hey, it isn't all bad news out there. Up in Interlochen we're doing our best to fight the blahs. We have a couple of openings and rental fees are rolled back to low season rates (25% discount) for visits from now to the end of summer (Labor Day).

News! 

Check out the new residents on the lake. A few years back the pair of loons that return to Duck Lake every summer produced a pair of chicks. We watched them grow all summer, learn to fly, and finally depart late in the fall (just before the lake is iced in). For the last several years there have been no chicks, at least none that survived. This year we once again have a couple of active young ones. They are getting bigger every day and will be stretching their wings before long...

There is another young bird on the lake. This yearling eagle has been around for awhile. We were worried about the loon chicks, but the adults do a fine job of protecting their young. They raise quite the alarm any time the eagle is soaring over the south end of the lake...
